| Since 2:30 p.m., our volunteers have responded to three separate incidents throughout the area.
We were requested to assist the Trumbauersville Fire Company at an automobile fire in the southbound lanes of the 309 bypass in West Rockhill Township. The fire occurred just before the Lawn Avenue exit. With the Pennsylvania State Police shutting down all traffic, Rescue 27 traveled in the opposite direction to reach and extinguish the fire. Engine 58 arrived shortly afterward and assisted with extinguishment.
While crews were cleaning up from the car fire, Tower 27 was requested to assist the Perkasie Fire Company with a reported dwelling fire in East Rockhill Township. The Tower’s crew checked for fire extension before being released from the scene.
Just before 4:30 p.m., we responded to a wires and brush fire along the railroad tracks off State Road in West Rockhill. A blown transformer caused a brush fire along the tracks.
We recently placed a skid pump into service that mounts in the rear of Highwater 27 during brush fire season. This unit will now return to service as Special Service 27. The truck will remain available to respond to flooded roadway incidents as needed. |
