Shortly before 1400 hours, Sellersville Volunteers along with Tac 76 from the Perkasie Fire Company were dispatched for a reported brush fire in the 100 block of Catch Basin Road in West Rockhill Township. Assistant 27 arrived and had a 40' X 40' area of grass and firewood actively burning. Rescue 27 arrived to extinguish the fire and performed overhaul of the area along with Tac 76.

With warmer temperatures on the horizon, there is an increased threat for rapid brush fire spread. Temperature, relative humidity, wind gusts, and dry conditions all are contributing factors to the spread of fire. Although there is not currently a burn ban in place, if you are having a controlled burn of yard waste, please take the proper measures of having a suitable extinguishing agent (preferably a garden hose or fire extinguisher) nearby.
