It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Life Member Harold R. Filburn. Our thoughts are with Allen and the entire Filburn family. Please read the obituary below.

Harold R. Filburn, of Quakertown and formerly of Sellersville, PA, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at the Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown, PA. He was 81.

He was the husband of L. Joanne (Besch) Filburn who passed away March 6, 1995.

Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Harry J. and Ruth (Johnson) Filburn.

Mr. Filburn was employed by Schulmerich Carillons, Sellersville, PA, for over 50 years until retiring as Supervisor. Following his retirement, he worked part-time for Shelly’s in Perkasie, PA, and later for Home Depot in Montgomeryville, PA. In his younger years, he delivered newspapers in the Quakertown area.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, PA.

For over 50 years, Mr. Filburn was a member of the Sellersville Fire Company, where he served as Trustee and Chief Engineer. He also volunteered for the Fire Company on the Carnival Committee and as Bingo Chairman over the years.

He enjoyed traveling to Stone Mountain, Georgia, as well as making trips to the Shady Maple Smorgasbord in East Earl, PA. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Allen R. Filburn and his significant other Marlene Grazer, of Sellersville, Shari L. Schroy and her husband Brian R., of Quakertown, and Kelly A. Filburn and her significant other Eric Leitgeb, also of Quakertown; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Justin, Stephanie, Amber, Zachary and Kaiden; two great grandchildren, Riley and Samuel; a sister, Margaret Mease, of Quakertown; and nieces and nephews.
