Early this morning, Sellersville Volunteers were dispatched as the Rapid Intervention Team on box 87084 to assist the Quakertown Fire Department at a working barn fire. Rescue 27's crew took the side C RIT assignment and were later put to work to open up a portion of the roof of the structure. Tower 27 made the response as well and their crew reported to manpower. While on scene of the fire, Engine 27 was able to respond with Montgomery Ladder 75 and Rescue 74 into Perkasie for a report of a gas odor inside.

After RIT was broken down and Rescue 27 was in the process of clearing the scene, Quakertown Command directed the Rescue to take in rescue box 56007 for an auto extrication on Route 309 in Richland Township. Rescue 27 arrived and assisted Rescue 60 and Quint 40, who were providing coverage at Station 18.

The Rescue cleared the auto extrication and then took the cover assignment at Station 18, so Rescue 60 could return. Engine 27 is currently being utilized by West End until their apparatus can thaw out.

This was an extremely cold morning making firefighting operations exceptionally difficult.
