In 2012, Past President Castelli and Life Member Dennis Bardar attempted to chase down rumors that the hose carriage that is located on the 2nd floor of Philadelphia Fireman's Museum, was a hose carriage that once belonging to the Sellersville Fire Department. At the time, the Department had documentation from meeting minutes and ledger books referring to the hose carriage being sold, believing that it was once ours.

Fast forward to January 2025, after reviewing old meeting minutes and reading old newspaper articles, our Historical Committee discovered additional information that further supported our claim that we believed the carriage once belonged to Sellersville.

This information was then submitted to Fireman's Hall Museum staff and after they reviewed it all, they felt comfortable to be able to say that the hose carriage located on the 2nd floor, did indeed once belong to the Sellersville Fire Department.

The museum had documentation that the carriage once belonged to the Phoenixville Hose Company. The provided information that supported our claim was a newspaper article from 1889 describing the original fire fighting equipment the Borough provided us, saying that our Department received a hose carriage from that Fire Company.

We are extremely proud to be able to say that the original 2 pieces of firefighting apparatus that were used in Sellersville are still around today, hundreds of years later.
