| For our weekly training, we hosted Instructor Carl Weiss who provided us with a forcible entry refresher class. We covered a variety of doors, and how to enter while creating as little damage as possible. We also reviewed the “gap, set, force” method of forcible entry on our door prop. While Instructor Weiss was showing us an extensive collection of door knobs, dead bolts, and latches, SFD units were dispatched to the report of an apartment fire on South 2nd Street in Perkasie Borough. Crews discovered a malfunctioning dryer in a laundry area, and the scene was turned over to maintenance personnel. Our volunteers returned to the station to continue the forcible entry review. Thanks again to Instructor Weiss for sharing his knowledge and experience with us! |
