Vehicle Rescue Training

SFD volunteers continued a series of department led vehicle rescue classes at Wilcox Auto Salvage on Tuesday night. Members were able to remove the doors and roof from a four door passenger vehicle, and then push the dash board forward using hydraulic rams. The second scenario was a work truck with a utility body on its side. The crew removed the windshield and cut the support posts, allowing them to fold the roof of the truck out of the way. This is a viable option for gaining access to the occupants of a vehicle that does not end up on the wheels.

Vehicle rescues are one of the many services we perform when needed. If you're interested in learning more, or joining our team, visit our recruitment page at: https://www.sellersvillefd.com/content/recruitment
