On Tuesday evening, December 17th 2019, the Sellersville and Perkasie Fire Companies toured the newly constructed Solar Manufacturing building located at 1500 East Clymer Avenue, Sellersville PA. The building consists of 60,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space devoted to the design, manufacture, and support of thermal processing vacuum furnace equipment. The furnaces are used in aerospace, medical, and other industrial industries for vacuum heat treating metals to acquire various metallurgical properties.

In attendance were 40 fire fighters and fire police from both departments. The tour centered around building construction, preplanned emergency response, and education of the attendees on furnace manufacture and their end use after completion. Tour guides were Richard Jones, International Sales Manager, and Adam Jones, Regional Sales Manager from Solar Manufacturing, as well as, Roger Jones, CEO Emeritus at Solar Atmospheres. The Solar Manufacturing facility is a member of the Solar family of Companies, along with Solar Atmospheres Commercial Heat Treating facilities located in Souderton, PA, Hermitage, PA, Fontana, CA, and Greenville SC.
