Shortly before 3:00 PM on Saturday, Station 27 was dispatched with Medic 151 for a traffic accident on Route 309 in West Rockhill Township. Chief 27 arrived on scene to find a large SUV overturned, and the attached travel trailer was blocking all lanes. Tower 27 was instructed to proceed north in the southbound lanes, as the incident occurred .2 miles from the State Rd exit ramp. Engine 27-1 also responded and crews from both units worked to contain minor spills of various fluids. SFD volunteers and fire police officers from surrounding municipalities were on scene for over two hours while heavy wreckers worked to remove the vehicle and trailer. The roadway was reopened around 5:00 PM.
