Asher D. "Jack" Wambold
Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10:45 The Officers and Members regret to announce the passing of long time member, Asher D. “Jack” Wambold, 70, a fire police officer. Members observed a funeral on August 18th, with the flag at half staff.
Obituary as follows.
Asher D. ‘Jack” Wambold, Jr., 70, a lifelong resident of West Rockhill Township, passed away Saturday morning, August 14 in Pennsburg Manor, Pennsburg. He was the husband of Elizabeth “Betty” J. (Fell) Wambold for 48 years.
Born in West Rockhill Township, he was the son of the late Asher D., Sr. and Dorothy M. “Dolly” (Scholl) Wambold.
Asher had worked his father and uncle’s farm, the Oak Grove Farm, for many years before he established his own landscaping and snow removal business.
He was a 44 year member of the Sellersville Fire Department, where he served on the Sellersville Fire Police. He was a past captain of the Fire Police. Asher was also a member of the Quakertown Moose.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, Asher is survived by two children: Richard L. Wambold and his wife, Robin, of Quakertown; and Susan R. Koffel and her husband, Ronald L., of Sellersville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorie Furness and her husband, Fred, of Quakertown; and his brother, Scott T. Wambold, and his wife, Tracey, of Sellersville.
His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday morning, August 18, at 11:00 AM at the Sellersville Fire Department, 2 North Main Street, Sellersville. Family and friends may call at the Sellersville Fire Department, Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Jerusalem Union Cemetery (Almont), Sellersville.
