Around 8:45 am, Engine 27 was dispatched to a building fire on West Broad Street in Quakertown Boro. The engine staged at a hydrant on Broad Street to complete an additional water supply started by Engine 58 (Trumbauersville), if needed. The crew advanced to side C of the building to assist with extinguishment and overhaul on the 1st and 2nd divisions.

The fire grew to two alarms with additional special calls before being placed under control. One fatality was reported as a result of the fire, along with four additional injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation by local and state level Fire Marshals.
